Angila Tan

Committee Member

Known for her exceptional pedagogical techniques for young voices, Conductor and Music Educator Angila Tan has set an outstanding reputation of developing award-winning children’s choirs and motivated students. Her groups have garnered numerous Gold and Gold with Honours awards, as well as Certificates of Distinction at the Singapore Youth Festival Central Judging of Choirs and Arts Presentations and International choir competition.

Over the years, Angila’s innate passion for good music education has resulted in positive, focused and energised rehearsals, resulting in highly motivated students that have gone on to foster lifelong appreciation for the arts.

In 2011, Angila together with the Ministry of Education’s Co-Curricular Activities Branch pioneered the nation-wide choral programme for the first Music Talent Development Centre for primary schools. She has also served as instructor and rehearsal conductor for the World Youth Choral Festival in 2008, the Singapore National Primary School Choral Camp in 2009, and the inaugural Singapore International World Youth Choral Festival of 2011.

Today, Angila continues to educate and touch the lives youths and children in Singapore through good music education and developing an in-depth passion for choral music.
