Starting out with no formal music background, Amir began his choral
journey in his secondary school choir as a Section Leader and its
pioneer Student Conductor. His belief in the potential of choral singing
in strengthening individuals and communities has led to him wearing
multiple hats in the Singapore choral community for the past decade.

Amir presently plays pivotal roles in the Voices of Singapore Choral
Society, where he leads the VOS Community Chorus and VOS Men,
and supports its programmes throughout the year. He has also held
former posts as President of the National University of Singapore Choir
and a conductor of school choirs. In his free time, he conducts the
Hillgrove and Woodlands Choir Alumni. Outside the choral scene, Amir
is a social service professional with a passion for social mobility and
inclusion in Singapore.
