Starting with no formal music background, Amir began his choral journey as a Section Leader and the pioneer Student Conductor of his secondary school choir. His belief in the power of choral singing to uplift individuals and build communities has shaped his decade-long involvement in Singapore’s choral landscape.

Today, Amir serves in key roles at Voices of Singapore (VOS), where he leads and performs in both excellence and community programmes. Beyond VOS, he previously served as President of the National University of Singapore Choir and has conducted various school choirs. To promote lifelong singing among his former students, Amir occasionally conducts the Hillgrove and Woodlands Choir Alumni.

Outside the choral scene, Amir is a social service professional and community advocate, passionate about advancing social mobility and inclusion in Singapore.
