Cassandra Chen is a choral conductor, vocal coach and vocalist.

In 2010, she started her journey in music education as a vocal coach and assistant conductor in various primary and secondary schools. Her passion in educating youths through music eventually led her to fulfilling her dream as a full-time music educator since 2018.

Cassandra wishes to continually seek opportunities in developing and inspiring students to grow in their character while discovering their talents for music. She values character building in her choirs – such as teamwork, responsibility and drive in doing the important, as she firmly believes that music can help develop one’s confidence and motivation to excel. With the help of music and development of character, she believes the students can be empowered to develop their leadership and social skills at any age.

Through the years, she has been passionate about performing and has participated in numerous recitals, operettas, overseas choral competitions and short plays which helped to expand her experience in various performance styles. Some memorable performances and competitions were the Hans Zimmer’s LIVE tour (Singapore Grand Prix 2019), Tokyo International Choral Competition 2018 (Contemporary Category – First Place) and Sarawak International Festival of Music and Arts 2019. In 2019, she also achieved an Associate Diploma (ATCL) in Singing Recital (Music Performance) from Trinity College, London.

Cassandra has also led her school choirs through multiple choral festivals, community events and competitions. Her choirs have accomplished distinctions and accomplishments in the Singapore Youth Festival Presentation and have been invited to perform at events like the SYF Celebrations, NAVY Open House and many more. She hopes that through her guidance, her choirs can be provided with a head start to continue exploring on all that music has to offer.
