Joyce Tung Lee

Soprano Joyce Lee Tung graduated from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts and studied voice privately with Lim Shieh Yih. She graduated with Master of Arts in Voice (Distinction) under KS Joanna Borowska-Isser and Masters in Concert Singing (Distinction) – Lied Interpretation under Christine Whittlesey and Oratorio Studies under Robert Heimann from the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz, Austria.

Her notable concert appearances include Charpentier’s Te Deum with KUG early music ensemble and several premieres of Americ Goh’s compositions. She was heard on several occasions on the European radio with music ranging from the early to new music repertory, including the premiere of Americ Goh’s Discord in Childhood and her appearance with the Maribor Opera and Ballet Orchestra.

Joyce was finalist and winner of several international singing competitions, including the The 4th International Singing Competition: The Alida Vane Award, Ventspils, Latvia (2018) – Finalist (4th Place); 2nd International Singing Competition, Maribor, Slovenia (2018) - 2nd Place (1st Prize) and the 3rd Brilliant Talent Discovery Awards International Music Competition (2018) - 1st Prize (Gold award, Female Voice – Senior Category).

She is a co-founder of the collective, The Art Song Consortium, which is dedicated to promoting the art song and its refined performance. Her professional roles include Frasquita (Bizet’s Carmen) with Singapore Lyric Opera, Queen of the Night (Mozart’s The Magic Flute) with Kuala Lumpur City Opera and Marzelline (Beethoven’s Fidelio) with The Opera People.
